Gauche is my online home — a place to hang my hat, show my work, write about design, and meet people to work for or with.

MANIFESTO
Exceptional design isn’t about making things look pretty. It’s about making things more accessible, efficient, intelligent, relevant, honest, and more emotionally engaging. Aesthetics result from a process of exploration, insight, and improved communication. My goal is to connect hearts and minds to ideas — to your brand.

THE RULES
1. Start with a good idea. Then put it down on paper.
2. Work hard for the good of people.
3. Honesty matters. Always.
4. Think in questions. Ask the hard ones.
5. Keep learning. No one likes a dolt.
6. Surround yourself with creative people. Then go for a beer.

STEPHANIE HORN / DESIGNER
After receiving formal training in Swiss design and graduating from university, I entered the workforce with a passion to make good things. I gained experience in business-to-business marketing, design for non-profits, in-house design, company branding and positioning, and church marketing. My belief is that good design can solve problems, and I continue to evolve my ideologies as I find inspiration from nature, literature, films, photography, and the Bible. I currently reside in Phoenix, Arizona with my Corgi, Duncan.

Stephanie graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from the College of Design at Arizona State University. She has had her work featured at Fractal and Phoenix Design Week 09. She was awarded the ASU Provost Scholarship, as well as the gold and bronze medals for Advertising Design in the Skills USA 2005 state and national competitions.
